MIA Blogger- part I

1 Aug

Hey guys!

Sorry I’ve been so MIA lately but a lot has been going on around here. Now add to that the fact that I haven’t had internet 😦 it’s been a sad and blogless life around here but it’s also been filled with some pretty awesome stuff that I can’t wait to share!

And since I have so much stuff I’m splitting it into 2 parts so…

Part I:

So let’s start from the beginning. As you know, I’m officially homeless. Friday was completely consumed with packing and filling my car to capacity with all the junk I seem to accumulate.

just a couple things

Oh, and did I mention the A/C went out that day…ya it was NOT FUN to say the least. Pretty much wanted to kill myself but I stuck through it and ended with a nice cold shower at my friend Kayla’s place who so kindly let me stay with her.

I swear it was like experiencing a/c for the first time again. I was literally in heaven. And on top of that she had a nice clean apartment and not one filled with dirty dishes that have accumulated from your body builder roommate who is depressed from his dieting that he can’t muster up the strength to clean them himself, gross.

Forgive the digression, let’s continue on. So after my holy shower, me and bebler had some much needed couple time on a dinner date at Sakura Japanese. After working so hard and being so stressed out from the moving to the accounting final, it was nice to enjoy some good food and alone time.

I have to admit something now…I ate fish. And it was damn good.

I’ve actually been thinking about reintroducing fish and eggs back in my diet for a while now. I haven’t made any decisions yet, but that night I did splurge and enjoy something I’ve always loved. Do I regret it? No. I don’t know if it’s just because I’ve been stressed or because I haven’t been buying enough of a variety of foods but my diet hasn’t been satisfying me lately. I feel really constricted on what I can eat and helpless when I’m hungry. I don’t think anyone should feel like this and we should all be happy eating what we like and what makes us feel good. So for right now I’m weighing my options and I’m going to see what works best for me and my lifestyle right now. I’m sorry if this offends any non-meat eaters or anyone else, but I don’t think I should be a hypocrite and lie to you guys either.

So going back to dinner at Sakura we enjoyed some pretty great food.

For starters I had miso soup,

And bebler got his fav gyoza (pork dumplings)

Then we ordered the July roll (bebler’s fav),

The sakura roll,

The fantastic roll, which was literally FANTASTIC (my fav)

And one other I can’t remember the name of

Sooooo good. Man I missed sushi 🙂 and don’t worry, we had left overs. but usually me and carson can put down sushi like it’s our job! the waiters always used to come back and say “wow, looks like you guys were hungry” and then I would get self conscious lol

Then after, bebler went out with the boys while me and Kayla went to see Charlie St. Cloud….it was just ok. We felt like it didn’t do a good job of explaining things and it was just kind of weird. But at least we got some entertainment. And then we got back to her apartment and watched the new JERSEY SHORE IN MIAMI!!! Man I miss the GTL, drama, and fist pumping! Good ending to a rough day 🙂

Stay tuned for part II TRUST ME you don’t want to miss what happened the next day…

Sweet Potato Smoothie

7 Jun

Morning bloggies! Did everyone watch their shows last night? You know I did! Phew that was a lot of tv and I wasn’t expecting the Next Food Network Star to be 2 HOURS but sall good. I still have to watch the Movie Awards but Carson recorded it so we can watch it commercial-free when I visit him on thursday.

I forgot to mention earlier but this morning I had a photo shoot to get some professional pics taken. They aren’t necessarily for anything but my mom wants to send them in to some agencies to see if I can start modeling. I’ve always dreamed of modeling but to me it’s one of those things that I never thought I was really good enough for. I mean I’m no Victoria’s secret angel (my Dream has always been to be one 🙂 hehehe) I’m just little old nobody bianka.

But I really enjoyed today and the pictures were looking really good so only time will tell. I’ll post some of the pictures when the photographer sends them, I can’t wait!

the park where we did the photo shoot

After the photo sesh I made a green monster with sweet potato! It was pretty delish and I was pleasantly surprised

than again how could anything be bad with sweet potato?

Sweet Potato Smoothie

1/2 sweet potato (cooked)

1 cup blueberries

2 cups spinach

1 scoop sun warrior

dash of cinnamon

enough water to blend and some ice to thicken

Have an awesome monday!

Sorry for all the changes guys! The blog was looking alittle boring and plain to me so I’m trying to spice it up alittle and make it more fun. Is this better?

Last night we ate at The Palm with my parents and my uncle, aunt and cousins because they were in town celebrating one cousin’s birthday and the others graduation from high school at Universal. I must say this place was WAY over priced and they couldnt even seat us all at the same table. There weren’t many options for me (good thing I wasn’t hungry) but Carson also didn’t enjoy the crab cakes he got. They were basically just mounds of crab lumped on his plate and there was no “filling” or breading on it. Good thing they brought bread and butter beforehand though.

He LOVES his butter and it also took an hour and a half just to get the salads, upon which they brought my salad (entree) out with the appetizers so I had to sit there while everyone ate their entrees.

my mediocre salad of lettuce and tomato

Needless to say we weren’t too pleased with The Palm and we won’t be going again.

So anyways about wedding sunday last week….I lied. It wasn’t the premiere of bridezilla and David Tutera, those are actually today! Along with SOOOOOO many other premieres! I don’t know what to do with myself there is so much I want to watch. I guess I’ll just have to plop my butt on the couch for a couple of hours, it’s hard to be me sometimes lol

my other lurve

Tonight’s highlights:

Well my bloggy buddies pardon my bluntness but I feel I can be honest with you guys. I’ve been strangely bloated lately.

I know that changing my diet requires a period of adjustment time for my body to acclimate itself but I’ve noticed a change that makes me feel it may be a certain food.

To find the culprit I’ve decided to cut out carrots, beans, apples, and raisins for a couple days and to TRY to reduce my intake of bananas but lord knows I love my bananas. For more info click here

Well I’m off to the gym! Do me a favor and give yourselves the night off to enjoy some awesome tv tonight and save the stress for tomorrow, night!!

Teriyaki Noodles

30 May

It’s WEDDING SUNDAY!!!!! I don’t know if I’m the only freak of nature that is this obsessed with Wedding Sunday but I pretty much look forward to this day all week.

And tonight is finally the season premiere of not one but TWO shows- Bridezillas and all time fav My Fair Wedding!!! I may or may not be obsessed with David Tutera but i mean honestly what can’t this guy do? He’s incredible!

ahhh how can life get much better :)? The only thing that’s missing right now is my giraffe but he will be visiting soon enough so we can go to the beach and sloth around together. I didn’t think it would be this hard to be apart but I think we are so used to being together that we don’t really know what to do with ourselves when the other isn’t around.

aww how cute!?!

Anyways, I’ve really been wanting to try a kelp noodle dish lately just to mix up my daily salad routine but haven’t been to the store/don’t really know where to look for kelp noodles. So instead I turned to my handy dandy notebook (jk Ani’s Raw Food Essentials) and made her teriyaki noodles for dinner last night.

except i subbed the kelp noodles for carrot “linguine” noodles and added spinach to my sauce for more greeeeeens. I just peeled one carrot with a potato peeler to make my noodles.

I was surprised by how much it felt like i was really eating noodles! I didn’t feel like i was missing out on carbs at all. Only problem was that it didn’t last long enough on my plate :). I will definitely be making more carrot noodle dishes and trying out different sauces…. I’m thinking spaghetti might be next.

And for breakfast, my usual shake

I don’t know about you, but I like something to chew on in my food. I find that it slows me down while I’m eating and allows me to enjoy my shakes longer so I like to add just a little bit of quinoa.

I don’t really measure when i make this so these are all approximates but in case you’re interested….

Chewy Smoothie (any recommendations for a better name?)

1/8 cup uncooked quinoa -> (i usually cook 1/4 cup the night before so i have 2 servings worth on hand)

2 handfuls of spinach

1/3 cup of cucumber

1 scoop sun warrior vanilla protein powder

1/2 frozen banana

1/2 cup almond milk

3/4 cup of frozen blueberries

blend and enjoy!

And don’t forget WEDDING SUNDAY tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
